Sumo Itoshigenami Q85 is a significant new addition to Sumo Wagyu’s top sire line up. An outstanding son of sire Coates Itoshigenami G113, Q85 delivers Wagyu breeders a precision balance in both high marble score and carcass weight performance traits.

His pedigree is bursting with proven carcass potential from both G113 and the maternal sire: Sumo Michifuku F154, who has recorded a M/S average of 8.3 and C/W of 449kg from 34 analysed progeny. Q85 is a star of his generation.

Door Key P158 is an outstanding son of the proven high performing sire: Longford Mr Awesome, winner of the AWA and Stockyard Kerwee Feedlot Sires Progeny Test and Net Feed Intake Awards 2021. Mr Awesome’s Top 5% Marble Score and SRI Breedplan rankings are well supported with over 96% accuracy in M/S EBV of +2.8 (68 carcass progeny).

Sumo Wagyu selected Door Key P158 due to his high marbling potential. P158’s pedigree is backed up with proven carcass performance from the material sire: Macquarie Wagyu Y408 who boasts a +2.2 M/S EBV with over 95% accuracy (62 carcass progeny). Free from all recessive genetic conditions.

Sumo Michifuku P647 has been identified as the highest Marble Score ranked son of sire: Sumo Michifuku F126. Feedlots are raving about recent carcass data from proven performer F126, who has recently recorded an Avg: M/S 8.3 and carcass weight of 436kg (55 carcass progeny). P647’s dam: D220 is one of Sumo Wagyu’s most consistent and valuable flush cows, who has also proven her carcass potential recording two M/S 10 progeny.

Sumo Michifuku P647 presents a recessive free opportunity to dramatically increase marble score (+2.7), carcass weight and milk in resulting progeny.

Sumo Itomichi P141 has been identified as a top 1% ranked maternal trait sire, necessary for successful rotational breeding. P141 is sired by Itomichi 1/2 (modern Itozakura line) who maintains highly heritable female development traits of growth, milk, carcass weight and marbling required for herd improvement.

Sumo Wagyu’s most recent kill data from Itomichi 1/2 has recorded a M/S Avg: 8.5 and 422kg over 6 carcass progenies. P141’s dam: G111 stands tall at 800kg with a rock-solid genetic combination of proven sires: Itoshigenami C0158 and Terutani 40/1.

Sumo Michifuku P173 has been highlighted as one of the highest Marble Score ranked sons of champion sire: Sumo Michifuku F154. P173 boasts impressive marble score, carcass weight, growth and eye muscle area performance traits. P173’s dam: E155 is another one of Sumo’s flush superstars – this deep bodied cow maintains a beautiful phenotype with flat back and huge frame at 700kg. E155 has also proven her carcass capabilities, recording an Avg. M/S of 8.5 and C/W of 450kg from 2 carcass progeny.

Sumo Michifuku F154 has proven himself as an industry trait leader across both marble score and carcass weight EBV’s. With over 90% accuracy in marble score EBV (+2.4) and top 1% marble fineness of +0.51.

F154 has consistently produced profitable carcass results averaging: M/S 8.3 and C/W: 449kg over 34 analysed carcasses.

Sumo Itoshigenami C158 is a proven performer made famous as the sire of Coates Itoshigenami G113, one of the highest-ranking M/S (+2.7) and SRI (+$323) bulls in Australia. C158 has produced excellent carcass outcomes achieving an Avg: M/S of 7.3 and Avg: C/W 443kg across 12 analysed carcasses.

C158 maintains balance across breeding values due to the presence of superior matriarch cow line TF Dai 2 Kinntou 3 in the pedigree, whose foundation dam Ezokintou, was awarded grand prize at the third Zenkyo competition.

Sumo Itoshigenami C151 is a proven carcass performer producing an Avg: M/S 7.5 and Avg: C/W 427kg across 19 analysed carcasss.

Sired by TF148 Itoshigenami, who is considered to be one of the most influential and consistent marbling foundation sires of the Australian Wagyu industry. C151’s maternal pedigree contains the superior matriarch cow TF Dai 2 Kinntou 3, whose foundation dam Ezokintou, was awarded grand prize at the third Zenkyo competition.

Sumo Wagyu’s most awarded carcass performer acknowledged in The AWA Branded Beef Competition as the sire of the 2014 Grand Champion carcass winner and the grandsire of the 2018 Gold Medal winner.

X81 is an outstanding descendant of the influential Chiyotake maternal line, that has produced a myriad of high performing Australian Wagyu sires including Macquarie Y408 and Macquarie Prelude M495 among others.

One of the original sires imported by Sumo Wagyu from master breeder Shogo Takeda. Terutani 40/1 has proven himself be one of the true foundation sires of the Australian Wagyu industry due to his incredible ability to effectively deliver perfect balance across maternal and carcass performance traits (growth, carcass weight, marbling and milk).

Terutani 40/1’s dam is the great foundation female TF Dai 2 Kinntou 3, whose presence strengthens the accuracy of producing profitable carcass offspring along with strong maternal development opportunities.

K406 has genetics from three original foundation fullblood Red Wagyu bulls imported from Japan by Heartbrand Cattle Company: Big Al, Shigemaru and Tamamaru. Tamamaru is considered as the greatest marbling Akaushi sire, with proven ability to impart high M/S, Growth and Milk performance values into his progeny.

Red Wagyu have a unique ability to adapt to harsh environments, improve carcass quality, produce higher calf weaning weights and are renowned for their ability to add significant carcass weight and marbling on grass pasture, crossing well over Bos Indicus cattle breeds.
